He was one of the most talented Italian cyclists of his generation. He began his professional career in 1999 by collecting his first success, as a professional, in his homeland, where he won a stage of the Giro d&#8217;Abruzzo. They are<br>excellent and numerous his placings: 2nd in the Giro di Lombardia, 2nd in the final classification of the Giro<br>d&#8217;Abruzzo, 2nd in the Gp di Larciano and, unfortunately for him, 2nd in a stage of the Giro d&#8217;Italia, mocked by the Colombian<br>Chepe Gonzalez on Monte Sirino. Its progression was rapid.
