Danilo Di Luca

Danilo Di Luca was born Jan. 2, 1976, in Spoltore, in the province of Pescara. He was one of the most talented Italian cyclists of his generation. He began his professional career in 1999 by collecting his first success, as a professional, in his homeland, where he won a stage of the Giro d’Abruzzo. They are
excellent and numerous his placings: 2nd in the Giro di Lombardia, 2nd in the final classification of the Giro
d’Abruzzo, 2nd in the Gp di Larciano and, unfortunately for him, 2nd in a stage of the Giro d’Italia, mocked by the Colombian
Chepe Gonzalez on Monte Sirino. Its progression was rapid. In 2000 he won the Giro
of Sardinia, and in 2001 he had his first major international success, a third place at the Giro d’Italia.

Di Luca, nicknamed “The Liege Killer,” has always had a special ability in one-day races, but especially in climbs, where he was able to express his full strength. His big
chance, of consecration, came in 2005, winning Liège-Bastogne-Liège, one of cycling’s “Monuments,” a feat that earned him recognition among the world’s best riders.

His career ended for good in 2014, with his farewell to professional cycling.
After retiring, Danilo Di Luca still maintained a connection with the world of two wheels.
In fact, to date, the former cyclist has established many professional collaborations, such as
the one with Trabocchi Lodging Srl, with which, through Trabooking, the UNICA 6 road bike was recognized, presented and exhibited by critics as an object of contemporary art.

The strengths are elegance and performance orientation, innovative design and advanced technology
but above all environmentally sustainable production (e.g. frames made of
95% recycled aluminum), providing the correct recycling instructions, at the end of life of each of its components.
